Local Shops & Markets:

Westmuir Post Office & Shop	2 miles along the A926 going towards Kirriemuir. Has basic supplies, newspapers and also some local Scottish food.
Butchers:
James Pirie, Newtyle.	First class butcher, sells free range poultry and top quality beef, lamb and pork as well as 30 different kinds of sausage, haggis, steak pies, etc. Also a selection of puddings including Sticky Toffee.
Mr. Dorward, Alyth.	Excellent old fashioned butcher - sends pies to the Queen at Balmoral.
Cheese:
McDonald's Cheese Shop	Rattray, Blairgowrie. Sells 150 varieties of cheese with tastings available. Also charcuterie, jams, chocolates, mustards, coffees, teas and other deli items.
Fish:
	The fish man from Portsoy on the Moray Coast calls here on Thursdays at 12 noon or thereabouts. He has fresh and hot smoked salmon, finnan haddie and undyed smoked haddock, cod, monkfish, haddock, halibut, crab and fresh uncooked prawns available. Also local oatcakes, Aberdeen 'rowies' or butteries, eggs, etc. You can leave an order with me.
Vegetables:
South West Fullarton Farm	Meigle, open Wednesday and Friday 1-6pm, Saturday 10am-5pm. Organic veg, fruit and eggs.
A & H Pattullo, Eassie Farm	Glamis. Delicious asparagus from mid May to 20th June. Seakale in January and February. Ring 01307 840303 to order. The farm is about 3 miles from Littleton.
Fruit:
	This is the main growing area for raspberries, strawberries, blackcurrants, etc in July and August and there are many pick-your-own farms nearby, or you can buy them ready picked.
Ice Cream:
Visocchi, Kirriemuir	Opposite the statue of Peter Pan in the main square. Old fashioned ice cream shop and café.
Farmers' Markets:
	Our local market is in Forfar at Myre Park on the second Saturday of each month from 10am to 1pm. Local produce includes vegetables, plants, cheese, pork, bacon, beef, venison, trout, butter, hot Arbroath smokies to eat on the spot, etc., etc. The Perth market is on the first Saturday of the month and the Dundee one on the third.
